Hello from Honor Academy North!

"Make the most of every opportunity..."
Ephesians 5:16

funnight

Although this month started out with some difficulties, we sadly said goodbye to our loving and fearless leader, Dawud Duren and his family.  He will be known on campus for laying a strong and immovable foundation that can be built upon for years to come.  We have been able to move on and choose to believe that God is in control in the midst of chaos.  We had a MANDATORY fun night at the start of this month and played one of our new favorite games, Audio Olympics... we even drank POP.

leadership

The Leadership LTE was a huge success as the interns learned to work together and problem solve despite various circumstantial hindrances.  A favorite part to this LTE was the interactive movie, The Last Castle.

intramurals

Intramurals have been a memorable part of fall.  The men on campus have integrated teams with Bethany College and Bethany International Church, while the women have created their own Powder Puff version which we term Extreme Football.  As you can see where the idiom originates.

ring

The January interns received their rings this month and committed to living a life of honor.  The Week of the Ring was very powerful; we had the privilege to hear from David Hasz and Randy Olsson for the sessions.  The interns were highly inspired by the wealth of knowledge that emerged from the lips of these who are semper honorablus.

staff4

Our new director, Trace Jones, is currently in Texas with his wife Randee.  We look forward to them being here full time, but for the time being we have a temporary chief to fill his shoes, John Bushnell!  The new Director of Women is Tara Janik.  She is a very capable woman who brings a lot of vision and is very gifted in the area she is now serving in.

Special note to Mr. Jones:  We miss you, come home soon, and drive safely!  Love the staff at HA North.

Hello from the Honor Academy North!
November Update

We started this month with a youth pastor's lunch, hosted by our executive offices.  While there Battle Cry and Honor Academy was discussed.  Mr. Duren got the youth pastors involved and excited to help.

luncheon
November has proven to stretch the executive office logistical track and make our job lists bigger than ever.  Our jobs now include, but are not limited to:  marketing and promotions, library, finance department, mob calling, janitorial, travel planning, special events organization, and curriculum management.

packets
This month our fasting retreat took place.  We had a great presence of the Lord fill our room as Sarah Perry led worship and Dawud and Khristine Duren spoke to us.  There was no back forty to get alone, but rather street lights and roads.  The tempo of this campus is very much different than the one in Texas, we are learning to love this unique opportunity and use it to our advantage.
jones

The BCOM students weekly go to downtown Minneapolis to street evangelize.  They have learned a lot, but more importantly they have seen a lot of positive outcome.  They are experiencing something that classroom teachings won't give them.
tiff

Our latest project involves putting promotional packets together to send to youth pastors and school counselors in the area.  Needless to say, we have made great friends with the employees at Kinko's.

frontline

This week the Blue Ministry Team made a stop in Bloomington, MN on the way to their next ATF.  We met them at the Mall of America before they made their stop at Madison, WI.  Some of the HA North GI's will be going to the Madison ATF this weekend to help promote.
in moa

We are making the final preparations for the first intern class to arrive in January.  This includes gauntlet schedule, housing, ministry placements, and class modules.  Life is busy, but we will be ready when they arrive.  We have a new website, watch for posting:  www.xanga.com/hanorth
